CardZ Marketcap graded card glossary

Market cap (trading card)
The PSA 10 reference price of a printing multiplied by its verified PSA 10 population. It measures the total value of top-grade supply, not the price of a single copy.
PSA 10 market cap
Market cap computed strictly from PSA 10 inputs: the price of a PSA 10 copy and the count of PSA 10 copies. Lower grades are excluded from the figure.
PSA
Professional Sports Authenticator, a third-party grading company. PSA assigns a numeric grade to a submitted card and publishes population counts for each grade.
PSA 10
PSA's highest standard grade, described as Gem Mint. It is the grade CardZ Marketcap uses for both the price and the supply side of market cap.
Population report
PSA's published count of how many copies of a card it has graded at each grade. It is the source of the supply term in market cap.
Pop
Short for population. Pop 10 means the number of copies graded PSA 10 for a specific printing, set, language and finish.
Reference price
The price CardZ Marketcap holds for one PSA 10 copy of a printing on a given date, derived from graded-sale evidence for that exact printing.
Printing
A specific release of a card: one set, card number, language and finish. Different printings of the same artwork are ranked as separate rows.
Finish
The surface treatment of a card, such as holo, reverse holo or non-holo. Finish changes both scarcity and price, so it is part of a printing's identity.
Parallel
An alternate version of a card printed with a different treatment or numbering. Parallels have their own populations and prices and never share a market cap row.
Promo
A card distributed outside standard set packs, such as an event or campaign card. Promos often carry small populations and volatile prices.
Set code
The short identifier for the set a card belongs to. Combined with the collector number it identifies which printing a price and population belong to.
Collector number
The number printed on a card showing its position within a set, such as 085/SVP. It is part of how a printing is matched to its population data.
Grading
The process of submitting a card for third-party assessment of centring, corners, edges and surface, resulting in an encapsulated card with a numeric grade.
Gem rate
The share of submitted copies that receive a PSA 10. A low gem rate means PSA 10 supply grows slowly even when many copies are submitted.
Raw
An ungraded card. Raw copies have no verified supply count, which is why they are not used for market cap.
Ungraded reference price
An indicative price for a raw copy, shown for context only. It never enters the market cap calculation.
Slab
The sealed plastic holder a graded card is encapsulated in, carrying the grade and a certification number.
Certification number
The unique number assigned to a graded card. It identifies one physical slab rather than a printing.
Crack and resubmit
Removing a card from its slab and submitting it again for a higher grade. It can cause the same physical card to be counted more than once in population data.
Verified supply
The portion of a card's supply that has been counted by a grading company. CardZ Marketcap uses verified supply rather than estimated print runs.
Graded card market index
A ranking of cards by a value measure computed from graded data. CardZ Marketcap is a graded card market index built on PSA 10 price and population.
Snapshot
A single published build of the index, identified by a generation and an effective date. Every figure on the site belongs to one snapshot.
Effective date
The date a snapshot's figures represent. It is shown on every page so a quoted figure can be tied to a specific day.
Observation date
The date a specific price or population was observed. It can be earlier than the effective date when a source has not moved.
Accumulating
A status shown when there is not yet enough evidence to publish a value. It means the figure is being collected, not that the value is zero.
Stale
A status shown when a value exists but its observation date is old. The number is still displayed, with its date, rather than being hidden.
Coverage
How complete a snapshot is relative to what it claims to rank. Coverage is published with each snapshot so gaps are visible.
Watchlist
Ranked printings outside the top 100 that are tracked with the same method. They use identical inputs and appear in the same totals.
One Piece Card Game
The trading card game based on the One Piece manga. Its graded printings are ranked alongside Pokémon using the same market cap method.

CardZ Marketcap is a trading card price index. It is not a cryptocurrency, not a token, and not a listed company. There is no CardZ ticker, and this site is unrelated to the crypto asset traded as CARDS.
