Endpoints
All endpoints are GET, return JSON, and need no key.
| Endpoint | Returns |
|---|---|
| /api/v1/market | A page of the ranking for a scope, with snapshot metadata |
| /api/v1/cards/<id> | One card by id, or a 404 with an error body if it is not ranked |
Query parameters
Invalid values return HTTP 400 rather than silently falling back to a default.
| Parameter | Accepted values | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| scope | all, pokemon, one-piece, watchlist | Anything else returns 400 |
| page | A positive integer | Non-numeric or zero returns 400 |
| pageSize | A positive integer | Clamped to a server maximum |
Response fields
The market response wraps the card list with the snapshot identity, so a stored response can always be traced back to the build that produced it.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| generation | Identifier of the snapshot build the response came from |
| generatedAt | When the snapshot was built |
| effectiveAt | The date the figures represent |
| coverage | How complete the snapshot is against what it claims to rank |
| count | Number of cards in this response |
| cards | The ranked cards, each with price, population and market cap |
Example request
Fetch the first page of the Pokémon scope:
curl -s "https://cardzmarketcap.com/api/v1/market?scope=pokemon&page=1"Responses are cached briefly at the edge. Read the effectiveAt field rather than the response time to know which day a figure belongs to.
Update cadence
A new snapshot is published daily and the API serves the current one. Older generations are not served from these endpoints.
If you store responses, store the generation and effectiveAt with them. Two figures from different generations are not comparable without their dates.
Fair use
The API is public and unauthenticated, so please keep request rates reasonable: read a page, cache it, and do not poll faster than the data changes. The snapshot only moves once a day.
Excessive automated traffic may be rate limited. If you need bulk access, ask rather than scraping.
Attribution and licence
Figures may be quoted and republished under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), with attribution to CardZ Marketcap and a link to the page or endpoint used.
Attribution must carry the effective date of the figure, because market cap is recomputed on every daily update.
